Allowing a trusted sender in cPanel can help prevent wanted email from being caught by a spam filter. It does not guarantee inbox delivery; other checks still apply. Sender addresses can also be forged. Review messages and use only a specific exception for a sender you trust.
Step 1: Log in to your cPanel
- Go to the login page of your cPanel (for example: yourwebsite.nl/cpanel).
- Enter your username and password and click Login.
Step 2: Go to the email section
- Scroll down to the area Email in your cPanel dashboard.
- Click Mail Filter or Global Email Filters (depending on your cPanel version).
Step 3: Create a new filter
- Click Create a new filter to set a new filter line.
- Give the filter a name, for example: "Whitelist important sender."
Step 4: Set the filter criteria
- With Filter rules choose From from the available options.
- Enter the email address of the sender you want to whitelist. For example: [email protected].
- You can also whitelist a domain by for example @domain. com enter so that all e-mails of that domain are allowed.
Step 5: Choose the filter action
- Choose on Action before Do not filter or No actionThis ensures that the email is not marked as spam and always ends up in your inbox.
Step 6: Save the filter
- Click Save to set the filter.
- E-mails from the specified sender(s) are no longer filtered and always enter your inbox.
Step 7: Check your inbox
- Check your inbox to see if e-mails from the whitelisted sender(s) are delivered correctly.
Step 8: Manage or remove the filter (optional)
- If you want to edit or delete the whitelist, go back to the Mail Filter-section and manage your existing filters.
After changing a rule, check whether the intended messages arrive and whether the exception is too broad. Continue to assess suspicious links and attachments even when a sender is allowed.
