You can easily set up a referral via cPanel. This is useful when you have multiple domain names that need to be redirected to a single website or when you want to redirect a domain name to an external website.
Step-by-step guide
Step 1. Log in to cPanel.
Step 2. Under the category 'Domains', click on 'Transfers'.
Step 3. On the new screen you have a choice of two different types: 'Definitive (301) ' and 'Temporary (302). If the redirection is not temporary, then select the first type, otherwise the second.
Step 4. Choose which domain name you want to redirect. You can also choose to refer all the domain names you have in cPanel to the same address. If you want to, select '** All public domains **'. In the example, we choose to refer to a single domain name.
Step 5. Enter the destination under 'Transfers to', for example http://www.google.nl.
Step 6. Then indicate below whether you want your domain name to be redirected to and/or without 'www.'.
Step 7. Set a check mark for 'Redirection with joker sign' if you want everything to be referred after the '/'.
Example: if you want to redirect 'yourdomain.com' to 'yourdomain.nl' and you use a redirect with a joker sign, 'yourdomain.com/page/subpage' is referred to 'yourdomain.nl/page/subpage'.
Step 8. Click "Add."
Removing a redirect
To remove a redirect, click on 'Remove' on the corresponding redirect. The link will then be deleted immediately.
