How do I set up an automatic reply?

1 min read

Step-by-step guide

Step 1. Log in to cPanel.

Step 2. Under the category 'E-mail', click on 'Automatic Answerers'.

Step 3. Click on 'Add Automatic Answerer'. You will see the following fields:

  • Interval. Enter '0' here, as the automatic response will then be sent immediately.
  • Email. Enter the e-mail address from which the automatic response is sent.
  • Domain. Select here the domain name from which the automatic response is sent.
  • From. Enter here the name the recipient will see, for example your own name or your company name.
  • Subject matter. Enter the subject of the e-mail here, for example 'We are on holiday'.
  • This message contains HTML. Check this if you want to send a message with HTML. If you don't know how this works, don't check it.
  • Header. Enter the message content here.

Step 4. Select a date if you want the automatic response to start and stop automatically at a given date. If you want it to start immediately and not start automatically, then you don't have to change anything.

Step 5. Click on 'Maken/Modify' to create the automatic response.
