Heb je al een website? Bekijk in je hostingbeheer hoeveel ruimte je bestanden, databases en mailboxen gebruiken. Noteer die onderdelen afzonderlijk. Een website met enkele dienstenpagina\u2019s stelt andere eisen dan een webshop met honderden productafbeeldingen. Begin je nieuw, maak dan een lijst van de pagina\u2019s, afbeeldingen en bestanden die je wilt plaatsen. Vraag je webbouwer om een inschatting als die je website ontwikkelt.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Kijk verder dan de websitebestanden<\/h2>\n

Je e-mail kan een aanzienlijk deel van je opslag innemen. Denk aan offertes, foto\u2019s van uitgevoerde werkzaamheden en grote bijlagen. Controleer daarom of mailboxen binnen dezelfde pakketruimte vallen en welke limieten per mailbox gelden. Bewaar belangrijke zakelijke correspondentie bewust en volgens je eigen bewaarbeleid. E-mail verwijderen om een kleiner pakket te laten passen is geen goede keuze als je die berichten nog nodig hebt.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Foto\u2019s laten je werk zien, maar een originele camerafoto is vaak groter dan een webpagina nodig heeft. Gebruik afbeeldingen met passende afmetingen en compressie. Bewaar originelen afzonderlijk als je die later wilt bewerken. De winst zit niet alleen in opslag: kleinere bestanden hoeven ook minder gegevens naar bezoekers te sturen. Houd rekening met groei en andere grenzen<\/h2>\n

Plan ruimte voor nieuwe pagina\u2019s, extra medewerkers en meer mailboxen. Opslag is bovendien niet de enige factor.
